Pacific Palisades

It lies North of Santa Monica and South of Malibu, with the Pacific Ocean and Will Rogers State Beach to the West and Brentwood to the East.

Welcome to Pacific Palisades

Seaside views and casual, upscale living in an enviable Los Angeles enclave

Polished and tranquil, Pacific Palisades exudes an air of California glamor. Considered a hidden gem of Los Angeles, this posh community is also one of the city's most coveted neighborhoods. The soft brush of palm fronds and the far-off sound of waves crashing against the shore comprise the peaceful soundtrack of this serene neighborhood, while tropical gardens and sprawling lawns paint the picture of idyllic family life. Homes here are spacious and private, featuring meticulously manicured lawns, perfect for playful afternoons with the kids, and architecturally significant styles showcasing the stunning hilltop views.

Now known as an upscale coastal haven with a charming residential feel and quaint downtown “Village” area, Pacific Palisades boasts an eclectic history. Thomas Ince, an early director of Hollywood westerns, chose this spot in 1910 for Inceville, one of the first major film studios. Another transformation came in 1922, as the town began to develop in earnest when a group of visionary Methodists bought up land with the dream of establishing an intellectual commune. A century later, the Palisades has a decidedly more stylish sheen but continues to inspire dreamers and intellectuals alike.

Things to Do

Debuting in 1948, the Palisades’ beloved Fourth of July Celebration continues the nostalgic tradition of recognizing Independence Day with a neighborhood celebration. The day begins with the 5 and 10K Run and, later, fireworks light up the night sky, the vibrant colors illuminating the calm waters of the Pacific Ocean below. Quaint and walkable, the Village is as close as Pacific Palisades wants to get to a downtown area. Filled with charming boutiques and bistros, this lovely spot offers an elegant gathering place for lunches and shopping and is also home to the neighborhood farmers’ market on Sundays. The lineup of events here is unparalleled – from a weekly Kids Club to boutique-sponsored fundraising days and exclusive dining celebrations, Pacific Palisades will keep your dance card full.
